"Running has changed my life in so many ways I can hardly list them all. I have more energy. I have made dozens of new friends, run races with my wife and my five oldest children as well as my brother, started a local running group, inspired others to run and lose weight, gotten a job connected to running and a number of writing opportunities."

"With this new [running] routine, I saw immediate changes. My energy level was much higher, I felt as though my cognitive level increased, as I was much more alert to the world around me and was in such a good mood! At that point, I knew I would be a runner for the rest of my life." "I move so that I am able to keep up with my two grand-kids (eight and four years old). "I move because it makes me feel alive, it charges my brain, it invigorates my senses. That's why I move." Proud moment, shared with her son. Cynthia had just completed her first triathlon!

Cycling is freedom from traffic as I'm able to use River Valley and designated bike trails for most of my journey. I love the feel of wind and feel of speed, the warmth of sun on my face, the view of nature next to me and surprise visits from birds and critters that inhabit the trails. I feel privileged to have the opportunity to enjoy this journey and get some exercise at the same time. "...fitness was always extremely important for me...at playoff time...into the third period...be the guy who still has lots of energy and has the strength physically and mentally to push yourself even harder." "...exercise sets the tone for my day...I feel more energetic, I'm motivated, I'm more productive, I make healthier food choices, and it just makes me feel more positive all day!" "...give yourself some room "Why I Move. |
