"I have a very rigid routine which I find that I enjoy. I like to know that I am going to get up at 6:30 in the morning and I am going to workout. And at 8 o’clock I am going to the office...I like to be programmed that way." "It is my responsibility as a parent to ensure my two boys have physical activity in their lives. I have many fond memories of swimming so it was a no brainer that we start swimming lessons as early as possible. From the physical literacy and fundamental skills perspective to the absolute fun and enthusiasm of being in the water, it is a gift that I can give my children." "Just get in the mood and so you are out here. Everybody knows I am out here...about 4 or 5 days per week." What physical activity did you do as a kid?
"I move because that is when I have the most fun! Here's the question, do I move because I have fun or do I have fun because I am moving?" Getting to ride with new AFLCA fitness leaders, Lisa talks about how she loves to move and teach at the same time. Getting to "pay it forward" is a great reason WHY to move!
"I am inspired by being active in nature. There are a whole lot of ways of moving outdoors that I love: Nordic walking, hiking, biking, snowshoeing, alpine and cross-country skiing, canoeing, kayaking, and horseback riding. On any given day, it can be stressful to choose how and where to be active outdoors! In the vicinity of my new home in Canmore there are endless options. I love experiencing the different seasons (it can NEVER be too cold!), taking in the scenery, the sounds, and smells. I love encountering and photographing wildlife. "If I ever get in a bad mood, I look at my peers with their oxygen bags, put on skates and smile." |
