"And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music" Visuals of movement. Mindful movement. How do you ignite your childlike state of movement? "Absolute unmixed attention is a form of prayer." "The elevator to success is out of order. You'll have to use the stairs...one step at a time." "I move so that I never stop." "Six and a half years ago, I made a conscientious decision to include a minimum of 10,000 steps as part of my day. The challenge was presented to me as I accepted a pedometer to do so. This will be easy! I’m an active person! WRONG! It took about three months to get that number of steps into a daily routine. Now I clip my pedometer on in the morning, just like I put on my glasses. I move not only for the health benefits and the fresh air, but because I CAN. I WANT to walk. I NEED to walk. I have now accumulated more than 26 million steps. Walking has become part of who I am." "I move because it makes me feel strong and reminds me of how blessed I am to have a healthy body. I move everyday because it has become so integral to my mental and physical well-being. I move everyday so that I model a healthy relationship with my body for my three girls. As a woman, the appreciation I have developed for my body is essential to a healthy relationship with my mind, my perceptions of strength, possibility and motivation. Moving makes me feel like I can do anything. Moving shows my daughters that they can do anything. Moving is strength. Moving is power. Moving is determination. Moving is a gift." "Don't just watch it - give it a go! Make yourself part of the show!" "Physical activity can get you going when you are immobilized. Get action in your life, and don't just talk about it. Get into the arena!" "I move because it clears my mind and helps me to refocus. There is nothing better than the feeling of clarity and lightness that comes after an intense exercise training session or just simply getting outside and playing around." |
