"I only have one body and I want to keep myself mobile, happy, and healthy so I can enjoy the activities I love to do!" "At age 30, I was going through a divorce and realized how unhappy I truly was, weighing in at my all-time highest weight of 215 pounds. I had an enlightened moment when I realized that I could do things that I enjoyed doing to work out, such as hiking outside in nature. Then I thought, what the heck, why not try running? "Dear future me... "Dance for me is so much more than exercise. I have always been happiest when dancing...Some days I am better at it than others, but what is clear is that dance defines how I approach every day. There is a saying that ballet is training for life." "I move to be happy. When I need to distress, I hit the gym. When I need to zone out, I go for a run. When I need to escape reality, or simple escape the noise and negativity of the big city, I love more then anything to find a high peak, hidden from population, high enough to see as far as the eye can see, and challenging enough to feel empowered to reach the peak. I enjoy many aspects of fitness, but I enjoy the ability to move, and reach areas that otherwise I couldn't. "People ask me, "Why do you do walking meditation?" The best answer I can give is, "Because I like it." Every step makes me happy." "Just get in the mood and so you are out here. Everybody knows I am out here...about 4 or 5 days per week." Why I Move? "Because it makes my heart and soul sing." “Why should I quit [yoga]? As long as I can do it and be a help to someone else, I’ll just stay as long as I can. I get a joy out of seeing someone learning.” |
