"...it’s a challenge every time we leave the dock but also because my daughters are up above me…somewhere! Mallory is my partner as we bring down the pyramid so it’s my job to get her down and back into shore....we’re all together as a family."

"Biking is a great way to still get exercise. Have fun, meet people, and it’s easy on the joints." "It is my responsibility as a parent to ensure my two boys have physical activity in their lives. I have many fond memories of swimming so it was a no brainer that we start swimming lessons as early as possible. From the physical literacy and fundamental skills perspective to the absolute fun and enthusiasm of being in the water, it is a gift that I can give my children." "...becaue I want my grandchildren to know that you can still step and stride even with Parkinson's [disease]." "...It's an opportunity for our kids and grandkids to support their grandma who has been on the Parkinson's journey for six or seven years." "I...think of his [my dad's] strength and the fight he had in him to battle his MS until the very end. This is why I support the MS Society. This is why I raise money and participate in the walk each year. And this is why my young daughters have started walking for MS as well; to honor the grandfather they never knew." "But the thing is, it is about SO MUCH MORE than how your shirt fits or how you look in photos or how often you eat salad. Your weight is an indicator of your HEALTH. At 232 lbs, the extra weight my dad was carrying was affecting HIS HEALTH. Period."
"I move because it is FUN! I think the process is fun, I think the people I meet in my group exercise classes are fun AND the improvements I see in myself (physically and emotionally) are fun to watch. I love bringing my preschool children with me to the group exercise classes I teach and having them see that exercise is fun and rewarding and just a part of life. My dream for them is to always view exercise as a fun activity and not a punishment or just a means to an end. We move because WE WANT TO MOVE! |
